Forefoot pain or pain under the ball of the foot has many different causes. It could be result of the footwear you wear, the way that you walk and how the pressure goes through the ball of the foot, of the shape of your foot and toes such as having a bunion deformity or claw / hammer toes. Another common condition seen in the forefoot is a painful neuroma which can result in a burning pain under the ball of the foot which may radiate down the toes.
