Ankle Pain

There are many different causes of pain in the ankle and this could be coming from the ankle joint itself or one of the joints in the back of the foot just below the ankle.  Common conditions include osteoarthritis, ankle sprains, tibialis posterior tendon dysfunction, peroneal tendinopathy or other tendon or ligament problems.  It may be the result of a previous injury, a chronic overuse type of problem, or the result of a systemic disease such as Rheumatoid arthritis.
